Wet Paint & Laptops - Day 42

Oh my gosh, I am learning SO much about painting. The first really important thing I've learnt is not to use my husband's new laptop as a weight to make my new painting flat again after many layers of experimentation.

Yes, the paint may have still been a teeny, tiny bit wet.

"It's water based paint, it will come off!" I defend myself to outraged man.

Is it wrong to think that funny?

Notice I didn't use my own laptop.

The second is that many people will press 'like' on my FB link to the blog post without actually reading it. That's OK. People are busy, they mean well. Who has time to read a blog? I hardly have time to write one and I am the Queen of endless unstructured free time thanks to this Covid new world.

And the third is how wonderfully generous and pleased some people were to hear that my first painting sold for an amazing £1000!

Which it didn't as you would have found out if you actually read yesterday's blog.

I love that some people didn't think, "What the hell, I've been studying art for decades, hey, I even went to art college, and this upstart sells her first daub!" but instead are excited for me.

I can't wait to tell them that I've found a million readers for Spun Into Gold, they are going to be ECSTATIC!

Have I?

You'll have to wait and see.

Because time is relative.

All T.S Elliot put it so succinctly in Burnt Norton, Four Quartets.

Meaning, as I understand it, that whatever is in the future has its seeds in the past and its development in the present. It's just a matter of perspective.
