Stepping Stones - Day 3
It's easy to be overwhelmed.
A million plus readers?
Impossible, unlikely, ridiculous even to try!
Yet many legendary successful people 'failed' for years. Stephen King's 'Carrie' was rejected 30 times, Walt Disney was sacked when editor said he lacked imagination and had no good ideas. JK Rowling and her Harry Potter books were rejected multiple times by editors who prefer not to talk about it.
I certainly 'failed' at creating a good act for at least fifteen years of trying if you choose to see it that way.
I don't think that it's important whether you 'succeed or fail', it's more about whether you enjoy the attempt. If you don't, what's the point?
For years, I've started my mornings with a good cup of coffee and time to write in my 'manifestation notebook'.

I usually write the same thing, although it changes over the years. It used to be "I have a great funny magic act. I live in a beautiful house by the sea with a loving partner and lots of friends." Then I would fill the rest of the page up with how I'd like this to happen. "Fun, easy, fun, easy, fun, easy, fun, easy." If it wasn't fun and easy, I didn't want it.
Now I do live in a little cottage by the sea, although I should have specified a sea that didn't have quick sands and lethal rip tides making it impossible to swim! I have a funny magic act, even if I haven't performed it for the last six months plus of course lovely Walkabout the Husband.
But now each morning, I write, "I am a bestselling author and a popular international speaker with an encouraging, uplifting message that comforts and inspires." I have a few more requirements such as a deliciously cute rescue dog and of course my never ending quest to be 'lean, fit and strong.'

I've learnt that the way to get anywhere works best when you take one step after another.
These are the actual stepping stones I went out of my way to cross last weekend in Ambleside. I sat on the far side watching people cross. At first, they were hesitant, pausing on each step with both feet. Quickly, they became bold enough to walk easily. I watched their mind change from fear and uncertainly to fun.
Step by step.
My step today to reaching a magical million plus readers is to do a free course called Learn Digital with Google - Make Sure Your Customers Reach You Online.
It's definitely NOT the most fun thing to do today, but I hope it will make this challenge easier when I get the hang of it.
Step by step.
By the time I write to you tomorrow I will at least have had a go!
With a sort of 'how bad can it be' feeling and best wishes,
Romany
