Run to YES! - Day 16

When I saw the advert on LinkedIn for the 'Ultimate Girls Week Away Retreat' last Feb in Fiji, I experienced a full body and brain YES!

Yes, I'm going, YES, I'm willing to give up a month's income and pay my own airfare.

YES! I WILL be there!

Even though I didn't have a clue in that moment what it was. Not a clue. There was something about the advert alone that elicited this 100% certain response.

I've been commissioned to write the full story of this amazing and magical adventure and I'll share it with you very soon.

In short, I went and yes, it was more wonderful than I could have imagined.

This is a picture of my new friends laughing during my keynote speech. You can imagine how lovely that was.

When we bobbed in warm turquoise water watching the sun set, we didn't know that the world was going to change forever. We didn't know that borders would close, friends would be separated, whole cities would fall silent and for me that show business would stop.

We sang 'Amazing Grace.'

Such magic.

This is the moment.

I was thinking about that enchanted evening on my 'nearly raining but not quite' walk this morning.

I was thinking that when the time is right, you feel certain.

I was thinking that when you feel that certainty, it's time to act with ALL your power.

RUN towards that YES!

Run with your arms outstretched as if you were running towards your favourite person that you didn't expect to ever see again.

Then, when your vision is 'done', when it's real, undeniable, fact, history, then you can accept and enjoy everyone's admiration and wonder.

Until that time, you don't have to be interested in anything that will deter you from your path.

You can think, 'Join me, help me, encourage me, and if you don't see the wonderful colour and promise of my vision as I do, I'll see you after.'

I suppose I'm thinking about this because when I mentioned my adventure of sharing my book with the world, I could tell a few people were doubtful.

I must admit, I had a momentary pang of disappointment.

But in the next couple of minutes, I realised that it's my vision. I believe in it and that's enough.

When it is real, I'll take them out for coffee and cake to show there are no hard feelings.

My treat.

And what to do if nothing feels certain? Which, let's face it, is the usual state of affairs and right now.

My best plan at these times is to follow whatever brings joy and a quiet smile. As with yesterday's blackberries, like flowers, like ideas, like meetings with the right person, everything works in its own perfect time.

Everything.
