Magic in motion. Day 8
When I wrote my book way back in 2017, I used to get up at 4 or 5am. I didn't plan to get up so early but a little voice whispered through my sleep, 'Come and write!'

Opening an eye to check the alarm clock, I grumbled. 'It's 4am! Too early!'
'It will be fun, come on!'
Still grumpy, but secretly delighted by this magical enthusiastic voice, I got up. While the kettle boiled, I lit the candles on my little altar with its eclectic arrangement of deities, started some incense smoking and once I had a big mug of coffee, I opened my notebook to start the day with a list of 'positive aspects'.
I still do this each morning.
'Positive aspects' are a list of everything you appreciate. The idea behind writing this list is that as you write you start to feel better. You don't want to set your intention for the day unless you're feeling good.
This is mine from this morning. 'Warm & cozy, little cottage, flowers, lots of free time, great pen & new notebook, new magic room to organise, BBC radio plays, sheep outside, good coffee, blackberries, new walking boots, 7 hr hike this weekend, good food, colours, Nicky Mitchel, Sally Wow, peace, walking.'

Anything will do, as long as it makes your heart smile when you think of it.
Then I write how I want to manifest. This is a feeling. Mine is usually, 'Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, exciting, fun, fun, fun, fun.'
Because guess what? I want it to be fun.
Then you get to 'what' part, which you write in the present tense as if it already is.
You can write anything you want. Anything. No-one is judging you. No-one cares.
This morning I wrote, 'I am an international speaker and columnist.' I wished for lots more but this is the relevant sentence for what happened next.
Because next my Facebook notifications pinged to show I had a message from a friend from Brighton I hadn't seen for years. The message said, "Ring me, I have an idea!"
I wrote back that I had to do yoga first because if I don't do yoga first thing in the morning I won't do it because yoga is sooo boring. After five minutes of downward dogging, I thought 'sod this' and rang her.
And guess what? We had an exciting chat during which she ordered my book, offered me the cover story on her new magazine, a try-out to be a regular columnist and to make my book the one read by her book club in November.
Because that's how magic works. Although to be fair, not usually that quickly!
I had another column to write for a magic magazine today and now I have a two cover stories to do. Careful what you wish for because you'll usually get it!
Fancy a try?
Abracadabra.
