Look for the silver lining! Day 29

The greatest pleasure of life right now is finding the best silver lining you can.

The silver lining of many artists being out of work because many of their jobs are no longer 'viable' is that they have time to create this ad which made me laugh.

This is what artists do. They make us laugh or gasp or dream or consider a new thought. That's their job. It's important.

The other thing that I realised again today is how super important it is to share encouragement around. You never know who needs it. I suspect most of us need it most of the time.

This is my old mucker magician mate, Martin Cox aka The Strong Man of Magic. www.comedyofmagic.co.uk He's super funny. Well, you can see that.

He wrote to tell me,

"Romany listening to your book I’m only on chapter 7 but I had to let you know it is brilliant it’s made me cry and what a great dad you have."

Ahh. Perfect timing.

And yes, I did have a great dad.

What he didn't know was that I had just spend an hour totting up all the figures from various countries to compile the stats for sales of Spun Into Gold. Amazing how an international publishing company like KDP can't actually manage to give you a total sales figure. Never mind, it's good for me to add stuff up occasionally and use my brain.

I'll be honest, I was disappointed. The total figure of all books sold or given away at least is about 1600. Which means we still have a way to go before hitting a million!

But the Universe then chimed in again. Don't give up! It's only a matter of time and space before what you want to experience is really so!

Because then I noticed a comment from Tony Robinson OBE who is supporting the @ExcludedUK group of 3 million people fighting for financial parity right now. He wrote,

Ahhhhh. Again. Perfect timing.

I suppose this project is going to be like running a marathon. I WILL reach the end and I might hit 'the wall' a couple of times. Hopefully people will feed me the encouragement equivalent of a few fun sized Mars Bars as i go and in the end, we can all sprint through the final celebratory finishing line together.

Like my weekend epic hikes up mountains, there will be ups and downs but in hindsight we'll say, Oooooh that was fun.
