Look! A monkey! Distractions. - Day 9

Today has been a day of distractions.

A YouTube video of a young nurse sacked for going on a march to protest again her senior patients not being allowed to see their families. A long call from ex-husband Martin in Germany. A nice review and a chat with the reviewer. A specially made video of a new trick just for me from a generous friend magician. I made a spelt, nuts and seed loaf. I lit the fire and re-organised the logs in my woodshed. I picked an impressive amount of blackberries and took a long walk in the September sun and blustery wind.

But now it's 6pm and all I've done work wise, is the beginnings of the cover story about persistence that I wanted to get at least drafted today.

Things are going to have to change if I'm going to keep up with the opportunities are knocking in response to asking for them.

Do you remember that yesterday, I 'wished' to be an international speaker?

Just this minute, I got an email from Scottish magic society asking me to speak to their members in Jan 2021. Wait there until I check my diary. Oh, I don't have one. I guess I'll be free.

See? Magical intentions work! Plus Spun Into Gold is number 35 today on the Kindle bestsellers for Children's Action and Adventure Books. We're getting there!

As an entertainer, my working week used to start on a Friday evening and my free time began on Monday morning. Now that I'm a book promoter, I've declared the weekend to be free time.

Tomorrow, starting early, rain or shine, Walkabout and I are trekking 14km up the Old Man of Coniston and up and down neighbouring fells which will take 7 hrs.

I'm not sure whether to be impressed with our plan or appalled. I'll need this sedentary job to recover. You'll find me on the sofa.

Next week, I promise to be more efficient, less distracted and GET THINGS DONE!
