Dark nights are closing in, the leaves are red and gold and it's a whole 6 months since my spring 'Adventures'... sooooo, what's new?

I've been playing this cabaret show around the world carting stage cases full of feathers and stage props to confuse customs officials and experience the rollercoaster of panic and relief when the luggage doesn't arrive on time and then miraculously appears just in time for the show... I still have another year as Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year and am enjoying the extra publicity and shows that go with winning the title... and of course one never stops thinking of things that could appear out of nowhere (currently huge birdcages with kitsh pink birds inside are big in Romanyland) as one tries to create that elusive moment of magic...

My friends in France , Austria and Germany might have seen a one off 30 min documentary on the ARTE channel all about my day to day life which I made in July with the Danish film maker Flemming Fynskk. And my big life change this summer was to buy and settle in a great house in Brighton which I've named the Sequin Starship. Of course I'll be travelling around and about to perform but it is wonderful already to have a home to come back to, especially since it now has a large mirrored studio and workshop to create more magic in!

It's fabulous to perform in and see shows all the time and to share the experience with artists that I've long admired. Last month I saw a show that created one of the most magical experiences I've ever had and which has inspired me to get back to the studio to create magic that is much more theatrical. So I wanted to recommend Slava's Snowshow to you and to say, if it comes to a town near you, rush to see it! By the end of the show the whole audience is in joy! So here as October unrolls, life is good, dreams still beckon to be followed and remembered. One new discipline for me further to my usual boxing is the British Military Fitness scheme www.britmilfit.com where we run about in the early morn and the dark nights, sprinting to the trees and back under the stars or in the early morning sun, scrunching on the beach or burying noses in wet grass to do press-ups and ouuch..sit-ups. It's not all glamour keeping in the corsets! It's a fresh air and realistic balance to the smell of the grease-paint and wonderful to be at one with the British weather!

So here's to winter and cosy nights and joyous festivities full of magic and fantastic entertainment!
