HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!! Happy 2009!!! It's a whole 6 months since
my last 'Adventure's’ mail to you all! No danger of spam
from me! And I've caught up again with many of you at
lots of events this year which is always lovely. Right
now, I sit here cuddled up to my new wood-burning stove,
my house open to the elements with the double-glazing
lads busy at work fitting lots of new windows...
It's all quiet on the party
front as corporate companies are keeping their heads down
and individuals are thinking more about working off their
Christmas puds than organizing merriment. It's nice to
have some quiet time after the usual December party season,
time to work on new routines and props, write this. Lots
of friends have been enquiring about my latest foreign
travels but I've been mainly working in the UK performing
after-dinner cabarets, variety shows or close-up, maybe
due to having my own cozy starship-home to return to.
This December, my head has been full of putting in this
stove and heavy scarlet velvet curtains, a huge workbench
in my magic studio... I didn't need to add any Christmas
decorations to the Starship, already a more than decadent
quota of lights and baubles permanently twinkle away.
What's
new? Well, one good new thing is John (pictured left),
who is brilliant at turning my gaffed together efforts
into properly working props. I've roped him into being
my driver, stage & sound technician when needed and
it's great to have his support at gigs. I think my shows
have improved as a result and it's wonderful to have the
props packed by the time I'm out of costume AND driven
home! Every magician’s dream!
The other change is that
Angel is busy with lots of her own new projects and I
wanted to get more 'hands-on' again, so I'll be answering
the phone and keeping my own diary again, back on the
usual number of 07801 341066.
Oh, and I have the BEST
new gown for Toast-Mistressing, all corseted red satin
with huge sequins and feathers. Doesn’t ‘arf pinch but
worth it! No official promo shots yet but I’ll work on
it…
This is a time for planning
the year to come, to spin some dreams and create some
visions, I've just pinned a quote to my desk, which says,
"Change your vision, raise your belief level and
know in your heart you can live it." Personally,
I'm planning to enjoy more, dance more, see friends more
often, learn a great rope escape trick, prepare a show
for the Cruise market, NOT eat HUGE amounts of chocolate....
hmmmm, I remember having that one last year...
Hoorah for us all, and
again, a very happy 2009 to you all!!!
With much love
