Adventures of Romany - April 2006

Hmmmm.... Nearly May? 4 months gone in a flash! Hooray that the sun has come out at last, or nearly... I was so enthusiastic about its first appearance that I burnt my nose having an elongated celebratory snooze on Brighton beach last Saturday... Talking about noses, I've had mine down, working to build an hours' worth of cabaret show material to take on the high seas, cruise liners and the cabaret venues of the world... In the meanwhile, I've been working at frivolous and joyful parties up and down this British Isle, performing close-up magic and cabarets 'til I have literally worn out my costumes... hooray, time for new!!!!...


I also popped over to Berlin for a couple of sessions with a great magic coach there, another week in the States to do the same and then had the honour of opening a show down in Cornwall for Jeff McBride, my magic mentor and Las Vegas superstar (See picture).

Dates are filling up quickly up to the summer months - including performing for the Queen's Birthday at her Buckingham Palace Garden Party! - then I'm looking forward to FISM, the World Magic Convention in Stockholm, Sweden which only happens every 3 years. (1-6 August)

Magicians - me included - are peculiarly obsessed by magic, we watch it all day at lectures and in the huge theatre competition, then talk about it until the sun rises on the morning. 2000 great magicians from around the world will be there in secret gaggles...Can't wait, morning coffee in the sun on the edge of the water Swedish style... In the meantime, I'm in Brighton, look for the one with the sun-burnt nose in April...

To the fabulous people who have had the exquisite taste to engage me for your shows and parties, thank you so much, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to share your celebrations! And to all, here's to the coming summer, fuchsia best wishes and peace.
